How to choose cold brew: a bottled coffee buying guide
The best cold brew for you depends on what you like and how you plan to drink it. If you are comparing coffee in Tel Aviv, first decide whether you want a drink served in a café or a bottle to take home. Then compare the details that matter to that choice.
Start with the coffee you want to drink
A café visit and a bottle for your fridge answer different needs. For a café drink, the menu, preparation and place to sit may matter. For a bottle, useful details include volume, preparation instructions and how you will collect it.
“Best” is a preference, not a guarantee on a label. Ask how the seller describes the taste and choose something that sounds appealing to you. A bottled-coffee guide cannot establish a ranking of Tel Aviv’s cafés.
Check whether the bottle is ready to drink
Ask whether the coffee is ready to drink or a concentrate that needs preparation. Do not work out the number of finished drinks from the bottle size until you have the seller’s instructions.
The words “cold brew” describe a brewing method; they do not tell you the intended dilution. Follow the instructions for that particular bottle, rather than a ratio from another brand.
Read the ingredients and storage instructions
Check what is in the bottle and whether additions such as milk or sweetener are included or added when serving. If a particular ingredient matters to you, ask for the product information before buying.

Compare the same amount of coffee
